Need a Fix for PS4 Power Supply

:PSIconW64x64: PlayStation Help

Hey guys, I'm having a really annoying issue with my PS4 and I'm hoping someone here has dealt with it before.

The console turns on normally, I can get to the home screen and even launch a game, but after anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes it suddenly powers off completely. There's no error message, no overheating warning, and no loud fan noise before it dies.

The weird part is that after it shuts off, pressing the power button does absolutely nothing. I have to unplug the power cable from the back of the PS4 or the wall, wait 20–30 seconds, plug it back in, and then it'll turn on again. After that, the exact same thing happens.

So far I've tried:

  • Using a different power cable
  • Plugging it into different wall outlets
  • Cleaning the dust from the console and fan
  • Rebuilding the database in Safe Mode
  • Leaving it unplugged for a few hours

None of that has fixed it. The console also doesn't seem unusually hot when it shuts down.

I'm starting to think the power supply is failing, but I don't want to buy a replacement PSU if the motherboard or something else is actually the problem.

Has anyone had these exact symptoms? If it was your PSU, how did you confirm it? Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be really appreciated. Thanks!
