Mary Cosby Fans Confuse Me

I am genuinely baffled after watching the show and then watching The Cult of the Real Housewife. I knew very little about Mary going into the show and knew people saw her as quirky and funny. Then I saw her behavior. Quirky, maybe. But funny? I am so confused how anyone could find a racist, mean person funny. That’s not even getting into the cult leader bit.

Her actions are shocking but so is the reaction and the excuses people make for her. The amount of people I’ve seen saying “I thought she was funny but not anymore” like what do you even mean by that? At no point has she lied about being awful. She’s shown how she is and people didn’t want to believe it. In general, she and the whole cult thing is harmful and dangerous and wrong. But what is extra concerning is how half the fans still make excuses for a woman who from day one has shown how little regard she has for others. And I cannot fathom how people have ever even liked her before this. Even in season 1, she was a racist snobby mean girl.

Anyone on the show still friends with her is telling. She’s just as bad, if not worse than, Jen Shaw. Anyone who still supports her is literally supporting a cult leader. I think I just feel crazy from all the people making excuses or brushing it off as her being bizarre and odd. When in reality she’s very abusive and we’ve seen that on the show itself with how she talks to and treats others.
