Ipod touch 1st generation

Is it possible to get my songs off my ipod touch with a chromebook? I also no longer remember the iTunes account info. I just want to get the songs so I can add them to Spotify using the local files feature so I can stream them since I can't do that with the first generation.

I've heard that I can set up the chromebook to run Linux which I'm willing to try although I'm not too tech savvy. I just don't want to corrupt or lose the music on my ipod.
