Advice from fixed term (EOI) to getting a perm role
I’m hoping for some advice here, I’m on a fixed term role, and have been for 2 years but in another department. That role ended and I applied for an EOI to another department. This was easy, they just did an interview and moved me over for 1 year fixed-term contract but it ends in Jan 2027.
I’m a little bit anxious as it will come to an end and nothing has been said about extending it or making me permanent.
Do you think they will or shall I start applying for other permanent roles? How do these roles work usually? It’s quite exhausting as in total it will be 3 years fixed-term overall in the Civil Service and I feel a bit upset that I’m not able to secure a permanent position.
