I Know I Can Do More Than This: Seeking Career Growth and New Opportunities
I’m a Kenyan currently working in Qatar as a security guard. I’m 35 years old and earning around QAR 1,300 per month. While I’m grateful to be employed, the salary is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain both my living expenses here and my responsibilities back home.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and have experience in investigations, CCTV operations, access control, customer service, and security operations. I also have a valid Kenyan driving licence.
I consider myself hardworking, adaptable, and willing to learn new skills. I am open to opportunities in security, investigations, administration, customer service, operations, logistics, driving, or any field where I can grow professionally. I am not looking for an easy job—I am looking for a chance to build a better career and improve my future.
Lately, I have been feeling stuck. I know I have more potential to offer, but I have struggled to find opportunities that match my skills and education. At 35, I feel the need to take the next step in my career rather than remain comfortable in a position with limited growth.
If anyone knows of job opportunities, recruitment agencies, companies hiring internationally, or career paths that could help someone with my background, I would sincerely appreciate your advice or referrals.
Thank you for reading, and I wish everyone working hard to improve their lives success in their journey.
