What my first year actually looked like (it was ugly)

I lost money, I cried in my truck more than once, and I genuinely thought I'd made a catastrophic mistake. Nothing about year one suggested I'd end up with four units. The difference between me and the people who quit wasn't talent, it was that I had just enough runway to survive the part where it doesn't work yet. Capitalize for the bad year, not the good one.
