Left Track Pad Issues, begging
Ive been working on this for a bit and I am feeling defeated. Please help.
My left track pad has been rumbling and doing its own input. It started small and over time got worse and now its like just a steady constant gibberish of input and action. I can barely do anything like high light a game or go into settings.
So I did a few software fixes. Button test, BIOS, all the updates. Im gunna do em again.
I contacted steam support, and they want it shipped in for paid repairs and stuff and thats just too exspensive and I dont trust that whole process at all. Other than that, they wont help past basic software stuff.
So I got the ifixit kit to open the deck and look at the left side of the buttons. I only did air duster. The cables seem fine, but maybe I need a looking glass idk? I did find a smudge on the steel between the electrode sensor board but idk anyone to ask about this stuff. I put it back together just fine. But it seemed to make the problem from a spotty one to a vo sistent one.
Im a chef, i did pretty good IT program for 2 weeks in highschool and Ive sail some seas, but idk much. Can I clean that w alcohol? Whats goin on here? How does this part function?
I contacted my local shop, and the owner said he has spoken to gabe abt how the parts are not easy enough to get. He said he never swapped this part before. And tbh, he was cool enuf but had an ego that was hard to talk to but thats ok. I found the part on ebay used for 100$. But I have to strategize here, I have to save for that. In the mean time, wtf is goin on with the part I have? Has anyone dealt with this before?
Any advice appreciated here. Even the mean stuff, lmao
