Why is being quiet seen as rude, boring, or antisocial, even when you’re not doing anything wrong?
Sometimes I just don’t have much to say. I’m not angry, I’m not judging anyone, I’m not trying to be mysterious.
I’m just quiet.
But people often take it personally or act like you’re weird if you’re not constantly talking, laughing, reacting, or performing socially.
Why does silence make people so uncomfortable?
