Sorry for the long post in advance! :

I’m by no means a professional but last year me and my wife - decided to run a marathon - she is doing the Berlin Marathon, and I’m on Cologne the next week after it. We both workout and train for hypertrophy but running was something she absolutely despised so it was a challenge to see how well she can do something that she hates. I on the other hand had only run upto 5K distances on the treadmill with no impressive timings to it - except perhaps saying that I could run continuously without breaks.

Fast forward to now - shes been training pretty fine barring some injuries in between and I’ve been on and off my plans with my own events in life and only got around to getting to run consistently pretty recently and have run about 200KM in total so far this year, and am now starting my 12 Week build to the Marathon.

Even though my aim is to just finish the marathon at 6 hours, My easy pace is a pretty slow kind of time so far (10” ) ( even though it genuinely feels like a pace I can go on forever and really have started enjoying running at) - Having said that I can also push myself and run much faster (7,30”) - but ofc my average heart rates go higher ( about 160 bpm or sometimes more at that pace).

Quick data drop : I’m about to hit 30 ( part of motivation for the marathon), my heart rate max I’ve recorded so far is 205 bpm and I’m on the upper side of weight for my height - at 105 Kgs with a height of 5’10”

I guess what I’m trying to say here is : I have a lot of data points and thoughts bouncing off my head and it would greatly help to have clarity on my prospects, training tips and general motivation for this upcoming goal! 🙈

P.S.
I’m dropping my training block plan and some of my run data for reference here !

So I’m running my first Marathon
