The Open, Royal Birkdale Advice

Attending The Open on Sunday and Thursday, probably going to get a Wednesday ticket also after realising the Scottish Genesis Open is on Sunday 12^(th) so not many golfers going to be there anyway! Will use the Sunday as a day to get the Pro Shop and scout out the course I think.

First time going to a proper golf tournament. Any tips? I was planning to try and follow a couple of groups over the day but in reality, how feasible is that going to be? Is it better to find a spot and stay there for the majority of the day?

In America, on the TV at least, it looks like there is lots of space to walk up and down the fairways and won’t be any issues, will that be the same here?

I’m from Liverpool, and know Birkdale well but not much about the golf course and best viewing areas etc.
