My HSBC Travel One Card got rejected

I applied for the HSBC TravelOne credit card on 7 July 2026 and completed my Video KYC on 8 July 2026.

For context:

* Credit score: 795

* Existing cards: Axis Atlas and HDFC Regalia Gold

* No history of defaults or missed payments.

During the Video KYC, the officer questioned me very thoroughly. I got confused about the PIN code of my permanent address because I remembered two different PIN codes and wasn’t sure which one was correct. He asked me to refer to my physical address proof, and after checking it, I gave him the correct PIN code.

Another issue was my current address in Bangalore. I live in a small apartment that doesn’t have a house number or house name, so I didn’t include those details in my application. The officer asked several questions about the building, including which floor I live on.

Within minutes of completing the Video KYC, I received this email:

“After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that we are unable to approve your application at this time. The reason for this decision is Video KYC could not be verified successfully.”

Has anyone experienced something similar?

* Is there any way to appeal or request another Video KYC?

* Should I contact HSBC customer care, or is the decision final?

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who’s gone through this or knows how HSBC handles these cases.
