Does a college degree actually prepare you for cybersecurity jobs?
A degree gives you the foundation, but most entry-level cybersecurity roles expect practical skills: tools, labs, attack scenarios, reporting, and the ability to explain impact.
Where do you think colleges fall short the most?
For me, the biggest gaps are:
- Real-world labs
- Tool confidence
- Updated attack scenarios
- Interview-focused practice
- Report writing
