Fizzling out?

My MM(45) and I (43) met at work, same story as they all are. Fell in love, connection, passion. Love of my life. We started and didn’t mean to, got carried away. Fought it but decided to want to have a life together. Problem is he needs time to leave the marriage. Like years. Said it’s due to kids and finances. Now that we both know what we want, the fact that he can lie to his wife and live his life everyday is making me look at him differently. Or maybe I am just not believing him anymore. I’m not sure.
