My thoughts after finishing Earthbound
First of all: wow. This game was everything I thought it would be and MORE.
The last few days while I was at work I literally couldn't wait to go home to play, I felt like a kid again, something that I didn't think would happen with a 30 year old game.
Secondly, this game was HARD. I am not the best at JRPGs, so I had to resort to save states, especially with tough battles (I care more about progressing with the story). I applaud all of you who played it "correctly".
And I also applaud anyone who was a kid playing this in the 90s, the whole time I was thinking "Wow this would look totally different on a crt" compared to my phone screen. ESPECIALLY the >!Giygas!<fight, that must have been TERRIFYING.
It was also surprisingly deep and meta for a game of its age? I wouldn't expect the 4th wall to be broken in other popular series for SNES.
I already have my translated copy of Mother 3 and I can't wait to start it. Hope it's just as good, if not better!
