Cathay Rewards Seats

I'm hoping to snag a reward seat from Hongkong to either Milan or Rome in the beginning of September, and there are a lot available from now until the 24th of July, and then there is basically nothing until end of September (I didn't look any later). Does anyone have experience booking Cathay flights? Do they release the seats very late?
