Recommendations for two German students living in Taipei for a semester?

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I (22 and 23) are from Germany and will be moving to Taipei at the end of August for an exchange semester. Since we’ll be living in Taipei for several months, we’d love to hear your recommendations!

We’re looking for any kind of tips, such as:
- Places we absolutely shouldn’t miss in Taipei or elsewhere in Taiwan
- Hidden gems that tourists often don’t know about
Food we absolutely have to try and your favorite restaurants or night markets
- Fun activities or day trips from Taipei
- Things you wish you had known before moving to Taiwan
- Useful apps, transportation tips, cultural advice, or anything that makes everyday life easier for exchange students

We’re very open-minded and love trying new things, whether it’s food, nature, local traditions, or unique experiences.
