Protein intake for mobility/ low intensity strength exercises
I have been doing CICO for a year or so and have lost about 3 stone so far. I also have to have a hip replacement in the near future so CICO has helped with that as well. I am beginning to look at strengthening my hips and the surrounding area to make surgery and recovery a little bit easier.
With this being said I have been looking at kettlebell workouts. I should say I have never done gym work so am starting at home. I have never really took into account all the macros and fibre etc while doing CICO. I’ve just simply ate less and walked a bit more.
If I begin to do kettlebell workouts will I need to focus on protein a bit more? I get about 80-100g a day without really thinking too much into it but I know you need a decent amount of protein for workouts to actually build muscle but I’m also just doing a 30 minute workout with a kettlebell 1-3 times a week to begin with so I’m not sure if that still needs loads of protein or if what I’m having is enough to start
Thank you for any help and advice. If anyone has any suggestions for hip strengthening I will also appreciate them as I’ve been left by my doctor to work it out myself
