How do I get started in coin collecting? I found my grandpa's old album of coins and have no idea where to start.

I found this old album while helping clean my grandpa's attic. He was about to throw it away but I asked if I could keep it. He removed some coins that were special to him and left me everything else mostly full. Since I don't know much, I'm scared I'll damage it or mess something up.

What tips do you have for a total beginner just looking to get started in coin collecting? I read the stickied post about determining value but I'm sure there's so much more I don't know about handling and storing the coins. I want to keep them in a good condition. Any resources you'd recommend to learn about collecting? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also interested in expanding the collection so curious if you buy in a way that like....compliments the other coins?
