Mic chat in Halo Master Chief Collection Issue

My friend and I can hear each other when sending voice messages on Xbox Series X, but cannot chat or hear each on Halo Master Chief Collection. We have both checked the privacy in Xbox settings and everything is correct. We can also both hear game audio when playing Halo MCC, just not each at all. I cannot remember what mic he, but I do believe it is a new Turtle Beach that is updated and I just got my new Official Wireless Xbox headset today. Both have updated headsets AND controllers. Please can anyone help us. Thank you to anyone that can help!
