the real question behind almost every "what do you think of this trade?"

Advice
noticed something in my students that took a while to name. someone posts a trade asking what I think, and half the time the trade's fine, they're not actually asking about the trade. they're asking if they're screwing this up.

pattern's easy to spot once you're watching for it. green day, relaxed, talkative, feels like it's clicking. same person on a red day goes quiet, even when that red day followed their plan exactly and the green one didn't. the outcome ends up deciding how they feel about themselves, not just about the trade.

it's not a strategy gap either, most of these students know their setups cold. the actual issue is their own read on a trade doesn't feel real until someone else agrees with it. so the skill missing isn't technical at all, it's trusting a judgment call without needing a second opinion attached to it.

the fix that's actually worked: write the reasoning down before the trade, your own rules, your own words, no outside input yet. after, check it against what you wrote, not against how it turned out. do that enough times and something shifts, the outside opinion stops being necessary, because the track record's already sitting right there in your own notes.
