Genesis 1 Tekgrams

Hey guys so first time playing on Genesis since I never owned the map in ASE. So, how do you unlock Tekgrams in this map? O decided to make a new character instead of just transfering my og one from the main story arks.

I got like 3 Tek Swords from some simple Racing Missions so now I gotta find how to be able to equip them, is the only option to fight the Master Controller?(Please say it ain't so lol)
