High prolactin levels
Hi everyone,
I’m on my 9th cycle of trying to conceive and could use some advice. My recent blood work shows high prolactin, hovering between 900–978 mIU/L, and the lab confirmed it’s not macroprolactin. I know that an underactive thyroid is a very common cause of high prolactin, but my thyroid panel is completely optimal, with a TSH of 1.9.
What's confusing is that my cycles are regular, with clear signs of ovulation and a perfect 14-day luteal phase. I'm worried this mild elevation is acting as a hidden roadblock to egg quality or implantation.
If you had high prolactin with a normal thyroid, what were your next steps? Did a doctor prescribe something like Cabergoline, and how long did it take to work?
