Planning to get a car to manipal.

Planning to get a car to manipal (DL NUMBER) would you advise against getting a non KA car, are they stopped more frequently? I live in a rented apartment so parking is not an issue. The only concern is dealing with Karnataka cops. I plan to take trips in and around Karnataka every month. Also if you’re from Delhi-NCR and want something large transported to manipal, lmk I’ll most probably be driving till there.
