Why we suffer

Romans 8:18-30 stood out to me today. I’ve currently been struggling w/ coming to terms with my sinful nature and suffering that comes with sin in this world. This passage explains that we currently suffer so others have a chance to become God’s child. We eagerly wait for Jesus to come back and make all things perfect, but only because we have an eternal perspective because we believe in Jesus. We currently suffer to give other people a chance to become God’s child and share in this joy. And God gave us the Holy Spirit while we wait. God knew that we would need an advocate during this waiting period, and would give us patience through the spirit to be willing to wait. Thank God we have the Holy Spirit!
