Dog has fleas-What do i do?

hi everyone!

I’m currently living with my boyfriend and we have two dogs, a 12yo mini poodle (my baby) and his larger dog who’s a mix of multiple things i cannot remember.

Long story short, last year my grandma got diagnosed with dementia and was severely neglecting her mini poodle(unknowingly), sparky, so i decided to take him into my care. i love him so much but the past year has been so so much. he always has problems and i don’t know how my grandmother dealt with them, if she ever did. in the summer, he had such bad allergies where he has open wounds on his legs/back from licking and stretching himself. he gets so many infections, such as ear or yeast infections on his skin. i’ve been dealing with them by going to the vet repeatedly. i still haven’t figured out a way to deal with his allergies and that’s what i thought was going on now. but about an hour ago, i saw two fleas in his fur. i was giving him flea prevention drops, but i haven’t recently. and i will admit that is my fault entirely. after this situation is treated, i will continue to do so regularly.

i’ve never dealt with a dog having fleas before and im kind of freaking out. he has open wounds on his back so im assuming he can’t use flea shampoo. we have another dog who doesn’t *seem* like he has fleas but who knows. but i’m very paranoid about fleas and eggs being everywhere. my dog sleeps in the bed with me a lot, which means they’re probably in the sheets, mattress, carpet, couches, everywhere.

i have work in 10 hours and i started a new job a month ago and im still in a probationary period, which means i cannot call out at all really. i also have not slept yet and it is 7am. and today’s my first day doing my job alone, which is pretty much two peoples physical labor work for 5 hours into one persons work for 5 hours. i also work in a bakery, although im a closer so i dont touch food, but im freaked out about bugs and infestations possibly being put into the bakery.

most vets around me dont have same day appointments, and the ones who do are always only open in the evening and are super expensive. i could borrow money from a family member if needed, i just dont know if an appointment today is even available (i can call in two hours to see but im hoping someone will have some advice beforehand.)
