Vascular or Nerve Issue?
Hi, all!
I'm part of the long COVID crew now experiencing EDS-type symptoms (along with POTS, MCAS, etc). Early on, I noticed that indentations in my skin would be deeply red/purple and stay indented really long -- a PT I had at the time suggested it was because of MCAS and it actually improved.
In the last year or so, I've noticed that my legs go numb with compression from the other leg, like when I'm sleeping with my knees slightly askew (rather than stacked) while sleeping. The lower half will go numb and I'll feel some pain where the top leg was pressing into the lower leg. Recently, my brother sat on my upper/inner leg and within a few minutes, my heart went nuts with PVCs and arrhythmia (my worst symptoms). He pointed out that was my femoral artery and after about 2 minutes, my heart chilled out.
I've noticed lots of people note this symptom here and say it's a nerve issue, but I'm freaked out that it's vascular. And of course further freaked out that it could be progressive, cause a blood clot, or damage my vasculature. Does anyone have any insight on how to rule this out? Who to see? I don't have anyone besides my PCP who is supportive but not familiar with hypermobility.
Thank you so much!
