Yes, you heard me right, I honestly don't think one's performance was that bad in homeward bound.

This is a long one folks, so strap in.

\- To start off with, Its pretty clear that one was in a pretty bad mental state during the entire episode, so it's obvious she wasnt thinking straight and was using her powers illogically

\- First off, its explained by Two that she doesn't want a repeat of Three and we can infer from this that one is actively holding back. Even when shes pissed off we can see that she's controlling her power at least a little so that she doesn't kill two or X by accident. Even when she was shooting lasers at X and the others, Two and X were bodyguarded by 4 objects(although bubble hardly counts considering her durability) and it's unlikely those lasers would have killed them anyways.

\- And honestly I feel like people are dogging on her way too much for getting hurt by bubble. Why are we underestimating bubble? yes, like mentioned before her durability isn't great but her strength isnt really much different from any other contestant, atleast from whats implied, and she didnt even throw hands with one herself, instead picking up ruby and stabbing One right in her CHEST(?) or just the middle of her body, which either way would hurt a lot since ruby's POINT is pretty sharp.

\- In terms of Liy and winner, yes Liy put in a lot of work digging that tunnel and probably saved X from getting his power taken, but in terms of actually stopping One all she did was got two tackles in, one of them getting her killed and making her look like three.Winner also got a hit in, but again similar to Liy's second charge it got him put in the dirt. Its pretty reasonable why One got stopped by these aswell. Her physical durability isn't much at all, and she doesn't do any training or anything to improve it, and in terms of winner specifically like come on that hand is almost as big as her BODY, and she doesnt even have any arms to push winner off.

\- Hell, even larpi- Turning into evil leafy wasnt even that bad of a strat, she (somehow) knew that everyone was scared of evil leafy, and using EL's tentacle ability almost let her get X's Power, only to get stopped by Winner.

\- And even if we ignore all these points, Defeat one is supposed to be a trilogy, obviously they couldn't have one just steamroll everyone in the first part as there would be no story to continue after that. They could have shortened Defeat one to like a two parter, but that would already make the pacing issues apparent in tpot 23 even worse(tho honestly i didnt have much of a problem with it)

\- There is a few things i dont get though, for starters, why did she even turn into planty? again like evil leafy no idea how she even knows who planty is(might have missed something), and unlike evil leafy that literally accomplished nothing and just got her reactivating her moon PTSD for a short while when that dirt pile fell on her. And during the entire chase sequence, she was lagging behind pretty badly, yes she needed to limit her speed so that she doesn't immediately speed blitz Two and X but she could have atleast sped herself a little. Another problem I have is the entire ufo chase sequence, it was pretty cool thematically, but it didnt make sense that she was trying to destroy the Ufo when there were literally FIVE algebraliens in there, unlike she somehow knew her laser wouldnt just disintegrate everything in there(considering its alot bigger than the one she used in the chase sequence)

\- Yes, the writing wasnt perfect, but i think alot of ones faults here were alot more explainable than they look and who knows? she might start doing some serious damage in tpot 24 and 25.

holy yap
