Breakfast counter service options

Where do you like to go for breakfast counter service options? I’m in midtown and Cafe Lucia was easy and relatively good eggs in the morning and counter service which I love but it’s been really run down lately. They haven’t had air conditioning for weeks and all of their cups are so flimsy and cheap. But I don’t want to have to wait for a table or waiter and I don’t want just a pastry or bagel at a coffee shop that doesn’t sell fresh made food. Any suggestions? Thanks
