How often do drs recommend hospitalisation ?

The psychiatrist I have been seeing has recomended a referral for inpatient treatment in a mother/baby unit.

Things have been bad for me, but I don’t know how an admission will help (or anything tbh)

If they are recommending it, should I listen ?

Or do they just want to be rid of me?

FYI, this is in Australia via the public system, so no cost involved
