Situationship

I’m 24 (f) , i have been talking to this guy from my school since past 5 months.We reconnected because we both are preparing for same exam. With time we became better friends. Infact sometimes it feels like more then friendship from his end as well. We talk like we are dating! He is consistent, polite, and puts effort in knowing me .But he mentioned several times he will date only in his caste. He said , he would have dated me if i was from his caste. Now I’m feeling uncertain that if he knows what he wants . why is he being so nice and emotionally available to me ?
I’m confused what do i do? Should i confront him , but I’m scared will that make me look like fool ? Or let it be how it is ! I don’t want to make fool out of me !
