My daughters Lego land was struck by the zombie virus
I had asked my daughter to clean her play room. As most children do, that chore turned into play. After not hearing any cleaning for a while, I shouted to her and asked how it was going.
Crawling on her hands and knees, pushing two Lego vehicles, she came to me in the living room. It was a very odd collection of figures riding the vehicles.
She told me they were running from zombies, and I told her that she needed to finish cleaning.
She ran back to her room and left this odd collection of survivors sitting in front of me, and their entire backstory popped in my mind. Enjoy!
The zombie virus hit hard and quick. The only hope to reverse the effects of such a large foothold is the combined magic of Elsa and Anna. All the survivors fell back to their castle while the sisters attempted to create the potions needed to halt the spread.
Sadly, the Lego city workers just couldn’t hold their front. This allowed an opportunity for the zombies to infiltrate the main chambers of the frozen castle. Though bluey and Chloe tried, they couldn’t save both sisters. Anna was taken and bluey was sacrificed.
The freshly turned Anna decimated marvel from their flank. All seemed lost. A lone dwarf managed to pull Thor and rocket to safety.
In the secret passages of the frozen castle, the lone survivors happened across each other. Elsa and Chloe, and the group of rocket, Thor, and a scrappy dwarf. With no hope of getting out and no hope of mustering enough magic to reverse the apocalypse, they all sat to share stories and wait to be found.
The dwarf shared a story of the time he went to the mega blox consulate to meet a dwarf from their Warcraft land. That’s when it hit Elsa. There was no way the epidemic had made it that far yet, and there are wizards and witches that can help her there! We just have to hope the consulate is holding out and find a way out of these tombs. Elsa whispered some words and the ground began to move as a hand of bones broke through….the bones of a loyal guard and guide from generations past.
The skeletal guide led the survivors safely and efficiently out of the tombs and well on the way to the consulate. Most of the zombies were lost in the maze below the frozen castle.
Once the survivors made it to the consulate, it was under siege. Though effectively defended by a combined force of Spartans, marines, and Pokémon. Master chief, as the security chief, wasn’t about to let the ambassador down.
From his tower where he was directing defense, he spotted the survivors. A rescue plan needed to be made. But there was no effective means of communication. An air lift with a LZ so close would draw too much attention. Master chief struggled with the thought of abandoning his Lego land allies.
Meanwhile, our survivors were worried by the same issue. How do they make contact with these potential saviors. The skeletal guard offered a simple solution. “Why don’t I just walk up and knock?”
That made so much sense. What could the zombies surrounding the consulate do to him. The plan went surprisingly perfect. The skeleton walked through the mass of zombies and a rope was thrown down so he could scale the consulate walls.
As soon as the skeleton was inside, he asked to be taken to the ambassador to plead his case. When brought before ambassador Wolverine, the skeleton explained that if they can get Elsa to the wizards and witches of Warcraft, there is a chance to save everyone!
Wolverine had been put behind this desk for years. He held great loyalty to the land of mega blox. Was it worth the risk just to save Lego land? No, he said. He couldn’t risk bringing this scourge to his homeland.
Our survivors outside the wall were waiting for an answer that may never come. And behind them on the horizon……a slow moving mass, a horde. With a putrid Anna at the front. Lego land is all but fallen. And if Elsa joins them the rest of the world will be easy.
Feeling defeated the skeleton guard went to master chief to ask to be allowed to leave the consulate to rejoin his group. Master chief was surprised to hear this. Ambassador Wolverine was a fighter and a hero. He would never leave an ally behind. The years behind that desk have changed him…. Master chief allowed the skeleton to pass and rejoin his band of survivors.
The news hit hard, though expected. The skeleton struggled to find the words, especially for Thor, to explain how ambassador Wolverine had changed.
Behind them, they could see Anna’s horde coming ever closer. In front, safety so close yet so far. Watching aircraft leave from the courtyard of the consulate. The survivors assume the nonessential staff and classified info leave on the first aircraft. There are fewer and fewer flights leaving now. Finally, an aircraft left the courtyard and turned toward the survivors. Flying low, they could tell it was full of military personnel. A crate is pushed out and it slowly floats down to the survivors. Inside are weapons and a note that says, “stay alive. Chief.”
There is silence among the group. Silence from the consulate. The military personnel must have been the last transport out. All that can be heard are rusting feet and groans of the hoard that is only one ridge behind them now.
Since there was no activity at the consulate, those zombies could now hear the horde approaching and starting to notice and turn towards it. The survivors are about to really be caught between a rock and a hard place. The only distraction the consulate now offers are small wisps of smoke breaking over the walls. But why would anything be burning there if all the documents were taken out on the first flights rocket said.
Suddenly, a series of explosions rocked the night. The wisps weren’t from a fire, they were fuses set by a demolitions expert. The wall of the consulate fell directly on top of every zombie on the north side.
Seeing that the path to the consulate was zombie free, the now armed survivors went on the move. They needed to. The noise from the explosion had energized Anna’s horde and they were moving much quicker now.
Before they had even really started closing the distance to the consulate and new noise rippled through the air. A rumble. They could feel it in the ground as well. Through the open wall of the consulate, two vehicles start rolling towards the group.
Bullets fly from the vehicles cleaning up stray zombies as they approach the survivors. The smell of death is replaced by diesel, gun powder, and hope.
Master chief sticks his head out of the turret of the tank to address the survivors.
I couldn’t leave you behind. I had 5 volunteers stay with me to drive you to mega blox. Four marines that have always wanted to see real combat shouted hoorah! And one old man sticks his head out of the back of the humvee and says, “I always hated that job. Never thought I’d be able to quit by giving an order to blow up the place, bubs.”
The band of survivors, reinvigorated and reinforced decide that the wasteland of the living room is the best way to get to the land of Warcraft in mega blox. The openness will keep any zombies from sneaking up on them and hopefully offer the path of least resistance to avoiding a quarantine when entering mega blox. Hopefully they will find a way to navigate the elements, supernatural, and political hurdles they will face. They weren’t even worried about the hairy giant known to roam the living room. Chief packed the caltrops known to bring it to its knees…..
I did save a picture of the survivors that inspired this, if anyone would like to see. 🤣
