[R4R] Myth Magic and Suspense

I have a idea I am interested in playing, in which YC is a supernatural being and comes across what they think to be a non-mortal familiar (MC), who ends up being a cursed human capable of shapeshifting. I am looking to build out a plot where our two misfits band together, help others, or gradually find a strange friendship with one another. Also open to your ideas.

This is set within a broader world where public use of magic is not permitted and private slayers, along with quasi-governmental forces hunt down offenders for "the public good".
