Seeking Berkeley & Bay Area Recommendations for DSO Weekend at the Greek

Me and the wife have chosen a week in Napa for an upcoming holiday; we are going across the Bay Area for a week's worth of outdoors, food, siteseeing and finishing the week with 2 nights of Dark Star Orchestra at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. Looking to find some small jazz clubs or even local jambands that might be worth seeing. We already have a walking tour of Haight-Ashbury to make the pilgrimage to see the Grateful Dead house and other rock highlights - Any recommendations on clubs, bars or music highlights for a couple of music lovers?
