I’ve been using the G400 doorbell for a couple of weeks now and the problems are just endless for me, and would not recommend this device at all.

Apple Home notifications are delayed by sometimes up to 3/4 minutes, if they even show up or record the motion at all in the first place. Sometimes they are quick, but still delayed compared to Aqara app, but this is short lived before huge delays return. Apple Home now keeps showing device offline since xx:xx but live view still showing up fine, so not sure how it’s offline. This obviously means no notifications or recordings, despite the Aqara app still catching every recording.

Aqara app was sending multiple duplicate notifications for every event (Customer Service were good at fixing this), but now showing no thumbnails at all. In fairness the recordings and notification speed are good with the Aqara app, and just seems to be notification issues they are struggling with.

It seems one issue gets fixed and another 5 show up. The Apple Home integration is by far the biggest downfall, stress and frustration. Aqara Customer Service have been good, and refunded me in full for the device without the need to return, but honestly, save yourselves the time and stress with this device. I think I’m left with no choice but to put the ring doorbell back on my front door now, which never had a single issue, apart from the £5 per month subscription that I was trying to get away from!

G400, I wouldn’t bother.
