Does this sound like bipolar type 2?
I'm not looking for a diagnosis and I'm aware that no one here can give it to me; I'm just looking to hear opinions.
Context: I have depression and I'm seeing a psychologist to work on it. Since the beginning of the year, I've also been seeing a psychiatrist. I take antidepressants and mood stabilizers. She said the mood stabilizers were to help stabilize my depressive state, but I suspect she'll soon decide my diagnosis on whether I'm bipolar or not. I'm planning to ask if there's a diagnosis as well (next month).
I have OCD and depression (although I was doing relatively well until recently... I fell in love :/ ).
Many times I've had the experience of being motivated for a week thinking about a great project I want to make and not being able to sleep because I'm thinking about it, however, I'm not sure if I would categorize it as hypomania.
Also, I recently fell in love and it was a rollercoaster experience after realizing what was happening to me. From feeling discouraged because I don't think I have a chance with her, to feeling motivated to at least try. There was a day when I became severely depressed (I was quite stable until then), and almost at the end of the day I became motivated again (I was lucky enough to talk to her in a late night virtual meeting). Since then, at times I feel a little hopeless about the future (with her and in general), and at other times I feel good, like I can handle whatever misfortunes come (Although a "soft" depression predominates... And being incredibly horny for some reason).
Before I realized I'd fallen in love again, I thought about her a lot and she made me feel good... and horny (I'm not talking about her body).
Oh and there was a day I was paranoid about some new friends that knows my feelings for that girl plotting against me (technically they would be doing it in my favor but unintentionally ruining the relationship between her and me)... It was all in my mind, Fortunately we were able to sort things out by talking, but our friendship could have been ruined. This happened the day after I felt severely depressed, but that day I already felt fine... Until my mind started playing tricks on me and I even started to feel physically ill.
I'm not usually that paranoid and it doesn't happen often, but I feel like it's not the first time it's happened to me.
The guys noticed that I was somewhat unstable and chaotic those days.
I've noticed that my psychiatrist once asked me if I aware of my pattern of going from feeling good to feeling bad and so on (I do). I believe it's not as dramatic since I started taking the meds.
Also, I have this problem when something goes from being something I want to do to something I have to do, I lose all motivation (even if it's something important that I have to do) and it's very difficult for me to do it.
P.S. I'm sorry for the disjointed narrative of this post; I didn't plan what I was going to post, so I improvised a bit (a lot lmao).
