NCANA Meeting

Applicant Questions

I start nursing school next summer after transitioning from a Biomedical Sciences Pre-PA curriculum to pursue CRNA. I planned on attending my state’s annual ANA meeting in September since it’s only ~2 hours away from my school but was worried on how I would be perceived. My goal is to overall gain more insight into the field from people currently in it (considering I’ve only seen ppl discuss their experience either on TikTok or here), establish connections for shadowing opportunities and potential recommendation letters for later down the line, overall advice etc. I don’t know if current CRNAs would be dismissive toward me though since I haven’t even begun nursing school yet, maybe leading them to assume that I’m just following the hype. I also know how this can go the opposite way though, as in hopefully they’re open to giving me advice considering I’m taking an early initiative toward my future. I guess my overall question is do you guys think I should go or not, and if anyone has been in my position how did you approach it? Also current CRNAS if reading, how would you react? I’m about to buy the ticket but wanted to make a post asking you guys before.
