Hey everyone,

I've tried most of the popular site blockers over the years (StayFocusd, Cold Turkey, BlockSite...) and they all share the same design philosophy: lock you out, and if you disable it or cave in, you're basically a "failure." That guilt spiral never actually made me more focused — it just made we want to uninstall the extension.

So I built Enfoque Amable ("Kind Focus") — same core idea, different emotional design:

Block sites you don't want to visit compulsively (socials, etc.)

Set daily time limits per site instead of an all-or-nothing block

A personal access code to override the block when you genuinely need to — no shame, no streak-breaking, just "okay, you needed it, here you go"

Free tier: up to 10 blocked sites. Pro: unlimited sites.

The whole idea is that willpower isn't a switch you flip once — it's something you rebuild every time you slip, and a tool that punishes you for slipping just makes people quit using it. This one is meant to help you come back to your intention without guilt.

Mostly posting because I'd love feedback from people who actually use blockers daily: does the "no guilt" framing land, or does it feel like it removes too much friction? What would make you actually trust an extension like this enough to install it? Very open to harsh feedback here.

Thanks for reading!

I built a distraction blocker that doesn't guilt-trip you when you break a rule. "Kind" site blocker instead of a punitive one — looking for honest feedback
