My experience with the SE
178cm 65kg for anyone wondering, SE is 48cm version batch 02/2026.
I’ve seen a lot of negative criticism of the chair on here recently so I was extremly scared that I made a mistake ordering this chair. So here are my thoughts.
I ordered the chair through amazon.de and it was delivered in around 10 days. The box is quite big and awkward to carry up stairs.
Assembly was very easy. Comes with clear instructions, takes about 20 minutes.
Initial impressions: the materials used feel quite cheap. The plastic doesn’t feel very durable, but the material used for the backrest and cushion seem pretty decent to me. First time sitting down chair felt very comfortable.
The seat: This was the one I was most worried about, but I have 0 issues with bottoming out, I will say the seat is VERY soft so we will see how it will hold up over time. I can see how someone heavier would bottom out the seat tho, with the cushion beeing this soft it should be a bit thicker to compensate or a bit firmer altogether. For me personaly it is very comfortable and 48cm seat depth feels perfect.
8/10
Backrest and lumbar support: backrest is very supportive and the lumbar adjust works perfectly for me at like 20% engagement .If you have very wide shoulders this backrest will not work the best for you I think, but it does offer a lot of freedom of movement with it being so narrow at the top
9/10
Armrests: they are meh. I honestly dont care about armrests too much, they do their job. I wish you could lock them or make them stiffer, they move around quite easily.. if I try to push myself up using the armrests they move around very easily. Not a dealbreaker for me but they aren’t the best
5/10
Headrest: it’ honestly great. Very soft and comfortoble, adjusting up and down is a bit flimsy, depth and angle adjustments are very good tho.
9.5/10
OVERALL: 8/10
Final thoughts:
Look, this is not a HM grade chair, and it certainly won’t last as long as one, but for the price I feel like it does a good job. As someone who likes to recline and watch shows/yt/movies a lot of the time this is a great option. Happy with my purchase. Feel free to ask me anything.
