Official resale through NFCtron seems unfair – no control over price and high fees
I wanted to share my experience with the official resale system and see if anyone else feels the same.
I bought my Let It Roll ticket for approximately €181 (I'm using rounded numbers for simplicity and not including cents). Recently, we were informed that tickets can only be resold through the official NFCtron app because of the scams that happened last year. I completely understand the reason for having an official resale platform.
However, I was surprised by how the resale actually works.
- I cannot choose my own selling price.
- NFCtron automatically lists my ticket for approximately €228.
- NFCtron deducts approximately €25 in resale fees, so if my ticket sells, I will receive only about €155 (again, rounded numbers without cents).
- There are already around 45 tickets listed in the same phase at exactly the same price.
The festival is only about 3 weeks away, and I would honestly prefer to sell my ticket for the €181 I originally paid just to make sure someone gets to use it. Instead, I'm forced to sell it for a much higher price that I didn't choose, while receiving only about €155 myself. That feels very unfair.
Another strange thing I noticed is that the original Phase 4 ticket costs approximately €233, but when switching the website to Czech crowns and converting the price back to euros, it comes out to roughly €201. That makes the pricing even more confusing.
I fully support having an official resale platform to prevent fraud, but I don't understand why sellers aren't allowed to set their own price (at least up to the original purchase price).
Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone actually managed to sell their ticket through NFCtron already?
