Grandmother said she needed therapy after minding my son.

Advice Needed

So as the title states - my son is 3.5. He is never really away from me and his dad. We don't have a "village". My mam passed away 5 years ago and my partners mam is basically loving her own life and not much time for grandkids. My son is pre verbal, really happy kid. In mainstream daycare at the moment but starting early intervention in September. His grandmother took him last week for one night so we could attend a wedding. The last time he stayed overnight there was over a year ago. When she collected him from daycare, he was projectile vomiting, had picked up a bug. Needless to say she didn't have an easy night, barely any sleep, cleaning up vomit, tantrums, the whole lot. She just came down to visit as it's my birthday tomorrow, and admitted that she had to speak to her therapist after taking my son. That it wasn't his autism, he is just a bold child. Then offered some lovely parenting advice, that he needs a dietician, OT, many different services. He is such a happy kid, sleeps well, loves daycare, has some words already, loves when we sit and play with him, has started pretend playing a couple months ago, is learning to use the potty... I am just so sad over this. My heart is broken. It just made me completely lose trust in ever leaving him with anyone again. Is it true what they say - that 3 is the hardest age? Will he get easier as he gets older? He has his days but he really isn't a difficult child 😢😢
