G14 Alternative ( display ribbon cable )

Hi !

I got my zephyrus g14 (2024) a year ago and only got to know about the display ribbon cable issue a few weeks after the purchase. Since then I've been paranoid and I have also made a few posts on the subreddit but the issue was not widespread then - with many people guessing that it was maybe a one off thing.

However now we know for certain that it is a known design flaw / case of planned obsolescence.

I got the laptop from the US but dont live there so can't claim warranty or visit an asus support centre.

And im worried about the laptop dying on me because EVERYWHERE that ive seen - it dies for absolutely no reason even if you baby it. It gives me insane anxiety everyday - since it was a gift my parents bought me for uni and in general and I dont want the tonnes of money they worked so hard for to go to waste.

Should i start looking towards selling it ? And if so what is a very sturdy and reliable laptop that doesnt have such issues. I do enjoy gaming so i thought that I could either go for another gaming laptop - however those have their own issues. Or a windows laptop x steamdeck or a MacBook x steamdeck combo ?

However I dont know what laptops would be worth buying.

Id deeply appreciate some guidance !
