I think spaying broke my cat - help!

Hi everyone,

I had posted earlier about my cat getting spayed and also about an expired microchip being implanted in her.

Since her spay surgery, I have noticed a major change in her behaviour and I am getting worried. Before the surgery, she was a very independent cat. But now she has become extremely clingy and vocal.

She pees once a day, poops once a day, eats well, and drinks enough water. So physically, she seems okay in that sense. But she meows a lot even after being fed and having water. She follows me everywhere and does not leave me alone even for 30 seconds. If I leave the room, she immediately comes looking for me. If she cannot find me, she starts meowing loudly.

I love her affection, but this sudden change is making me anxious. The weirdest part is that her meow pitch and tone have changed too. Earlier, her meow was soft, but now it sounds very sharp, loud, and unusual.

She is female, and I am worried that if I leave her alone for a few hours to go out or go to work, she might get stressed.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of behaviour change after spay surgery? Is this normal post-surgery clinginess/anxiety, or could something else be going on? Should I take her back to the vet for a check-up?

Any advice or similar experiences would really help.
