Best SUV for handling New England winters?
For a bit of context, I’m trying to help my mom find the best possible option. We’re looking to trade-in her 2024 Kia Forte for an SUV that can handle the ice and snow of New England, as last winter was rough. Because we’re looking to trade-in, we’re relatively limited to the options provided by our local dealership. The dealership specializes in Jeep, which would be good if we decide to go 4WD, but I know that Jeep is known to be less reliable than other makes (3.6l Pentastar and 4.0l Jeep are supposedly more reliable than the rest, but I’m seeing that they can still have issues with oil leaks and sensors?). If we decide to go for something AWD in favor of reliability, what should we be looking for? I’ve found a CX-5 with 36k mi for 25k, which I’m aware is a little higher than it should be, but would something in that realm be better than a Jeep?
