Just feeling sad...Stage 4 Renal Failure

My 10 year old male Border Collie is being treated for kidney issues. Went in last week and his numbers weren't great. Did a recheck yesterday, after spending the last week following Vet's directions to a T, and his numbers were worse. She told us that he was in full blown stage 4 renal failure.

BUN=78

Creatnine=8

Phosphorus=6.3

Currently very tired. Zero appetite. Tummy issues. I can tell he's starting to move very slowly.

ON THE OTHER HAND:

He's wagging his tail, still enjoys our company and attention and the million pets he is getting right now, and wants to sleep near us.

I'm not in denial. I know this isn't reversible. However, I did turn down a four day hospital stay to try and lower his numbers. The vet said if successful, IF, it could possibly give him a couple more weeks, but there is no guarantee. I'm just really wanting to preserve his quality of life and the time we have left with him.

I guess my question is, how bad are his numbers? I think we are going to have to make a hard decision by the weekend...

Thanks. ❤️
