Hey guys! So my Steam Machine arrived this morning! Im one of the lucky ones that only got on the list 11 days ago. (Not a flex just grateful it arrived so soon) Anyway, I asked a question on another board about getting rid of this Series X (that I hate for a variety of reasons) and the majority of people seem to think its much better than my new Steam Machine.

Okay, I have a couple questions and discussion points…

My GIANT pet peeve with the Series X, is having to update every time I turn it on! Now my friend has a Steam Deck and says you can turn off the updates, and download the game directly to the machine and only really have to update if a game needs it. is this true? Im hearing conflicting opinions on this? It was the main reason I bought the Steam Machine along with the price of games (which are dramatically less).

As a casual gamer I don’t have the knowledge or time to build a gaming PC and wouldn’t have a clue where to start. With this Steam Machine it’s already done for me and feels like it has plenty of power (of course the xbox guys disagree) Whats the truth here?

Im also excited to get away from the Microsoft eco system. With the Steam Machine, I don’t have to buy a disk and then download the same game to play it… which is fucking stupid IMO. Games have been played off disks for decades. I love my 360 for this reason.

My Steam Machine arrived this morning, time for the Series X to go.
