Help with damage done during warranty battery replacement
Hey everyone. So back in 2024 I had one of my battery modules die. I brought it to Lithia Springs Ford where I was EXTREMELY dissatisfied with their repair. They failed to secure the protective plate which fell off and started dragging while I was driving on the highway. The remaining screws were so loose I was able to remove them by hand. Well last summer I decided to check the coolant and was surprised to see it almost empty. I refilled it and kind of forgot. Well a few months ago I checked again and it was almost empty so I refilled it.
So when I brought it in to ALM Ford for warranty work today I’m told that when the last dealership replaced the battery they didn’t reattach the coolant system properly and it’s been leaking all over my batteries. They don’t want me to drive it, they don’t know if the batteries will need replacing, and they don’t have any loaners or a timeline for when the work should be completed. They said that technically the other dealership did the work so they should be responsible with fixing the issue, but I don’t want nor trust them to do the work.
I need a loaner, preferably a truck, because my family goes kayaking on the weekends and don’t have another vehicle that could carry my gear otherwise. On top of that, the thought of paying for gas while I drive across the southeast with these highly inflated prices seems extremely unfair.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Even if I get a loaner, do I have any recourse on being reimbursed for gas? Please help!!
