Extroverts in accounting
Any extroverts here in accounting? I’m sure there might be. Everytime I tell someone I’m an accountant they always look surprised and tell me that I’m too out going for accounting. Sometimes I feel like it is true and it is making me “hold back” on excelling. I don’t mind the work, I definitely hate the mundaneness of the job, I have always just disliked that it’s a boring profession. I don’t mind sitting at a desk but I feel like I’m never interacting with anyone , or talking to people. My goal is to eventually pivot out of corporate accounting into a more client facing finance role. I am not sure what that looks like or ideas what I could do. Any else pivot from accounting because of being too extroverted for the profession? If so, what do you do now? I love business , finance and operations. Trying to feel for my next move and get some perspective.
