Hey there! I hope I’m not interrupting anything, but I am so glad you’re home. I know — you’re probably wondering why I’m on your doorstep, absolutely drenched, wearing nothing but my jogging shorts. Allow me to explain.

The family’s out of town for the weekend, so I’ve got the house to myself. I thought I’d take full advantage of the free time and tackle some of the house projects on my to-do list.

The day started off well enough — I mowed the lawn, trimmed the hedges, and laid fresh mulch in the garden beds. I even spent my lunch hour up on the ladder clearing the gutters and clearing branches.

I felt like I was on a roll, so decided to begin digging the trench for my French drain project. That’s when things took a turn for the worse…

I made it halfway through before I hit the water main with my shovel. It burst instantly, completely drenching me from head to toe. The good news is that I managed to stop the flow fairly quickly. The bad news is that the repair crew can’t come out for a few days, which leaves me without running water.

I noticed your car parked out front, and had my fingers crossed you’d be willing to lend me a hand by letting me use your shower. I’ll be in and out, I promise.
