Update: DataLoom is no longer deprecated, a fork is maintaining it

showcase

Some of you may remember DataLoom, the plugin for building Notion-style tables and databases inside Obsidian. The original was marked as no longer maintained a while back, so I wanted to share a small update for anyone who still uses it or was looking for it.

Full disclosure: I maintain a fork of it. The original author (decaf-dev) did great work and stepped away for understandable reasons, so all credit for the foundation goes to them. I picked it up to keep it working.

Where things stand now:

  • It is back in the Community Plugins store under the same name, DataLoom.
  • Recent work has focused on keeping it healthy: bug fixes, dependency and security updates, and compatibility with current Obsidian versions. Desktop and mobile are both still supported.
  • A few small features have landed too, and more fixes are ongoing.

This is not meant to compete with native tables or Bases. Those are great and the right choice for a lot of people. This is just for those who liked DataLoom's workflow and want it to keep running.

If you use it and hit a bug or have a request, the GitHub issues are the best place, and feedback is welcome. Not trying to oversell anything, just letting people know it is active again.
