Deer are eating the garden alive

We’ve just moved into a new place and we were aware when we bought it that deer are very comfortable on the land. So far the place is largely left fairly wild with a few lawns and natural plants and trees. We would like to plant up some more curated garden. Has anyone got any tips or a list of dear resistant plants?

(we do intend to get a deer fence to corden off a part of the garden, but still keen to plant up the rest of the garden!)
